Destination Spotlight, Northwest MN • 2748 Views • Comments Off on Leech Lake

Leech Lake is the third largest lake in Minnesota, covering 102,947 acres. It gets down to 156 ft deep, but most of the lake is under 35 ft deep. The state record whitefish and pumpkinfish were both caught here, and Leech Lake is a popular destination for almost every major gamefish in MN. With that said, walleye is the most sought after fish here. Fisherman get to go after them in just about every type of setting on Leech Lake. From the many shallow bays, to the “big water”, we guarantee that you won’t get bored.
